Government has developed an online portal PENCIL. The purpose of this portal is to provide a mechanism for both enforcement of the provisions of Child & Adolescent Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986 and effective implementation of the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) Scheme for rehabilitation of child & adolescent labour.
World Day Against Child Labour, aims to spread awareness about prohibiting the illegally engaging the children into work and employment and also talk about the ways to eradicate it. The day is observed by people across the globe. It was launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO), an agency of the United Nations, in 2002. The theme of Year 2021 is ‘Act now: End child labour’.
PM CARES For Children- Empowerment of COVID Affected Children launched for support & empowerment of Covid affected children. Government stands with children who lost their parents due to Covid. Such children to get a monthly stipend once they turn 18 and a fund of Rs 10 lakh when they turn 23 from PM CARES.Free education to be ensured for children who lost their parents to Covid. The children will be assisted to get an education loan for higher education & PM CARES will pay interest on the loan. The children will get free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat till 18 years & premium will be paid by PM CARES.
In addition to the measures announced under PM CARES for Children- Empowerment of Covid affected children the central government announced several schemes to help those families who have lost their earning member due to the COVID-19 crisis and said that it stands in solidarity with such people, adding that these measures are being made to “mitigate financial difficulties” that may be faced by them.
Prayas JAC Society, a national
