A unique three-day film festival for persons with disabilities begins this week. It will be held at Siri Fort Auditorium from 1st to 3rd December. The festival will conclude on December 3rd which is also marked as the International day of Persons with Disabilities.
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has collaborated with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to organise the first International Film Festival for the Persons with Disabilities (IFFPD), a unique three-day film festival for persons with disabilities.
A total number of 40 Indian language and international films will be screened at the festival which comprise 16 short films, 14 documentaries and 10 features. The National award winning Marathi Feature Film, Yellow will be the inaugural movie of the festival. The spotlight will also be on Meghna Gulzar’s Closer and Anand Gandhi’s Ship of Theseus .
